The EICLHAIR consortium EICLHAIR bringing together EHP2, DTC, and I-SEE EHP2, DTC, et I-SEE has been awarded state funding under the France 2030 Call for Projects: Producing Low-Carbon Aircraft in France. The consortium has reached a critical milestone with the completion of the detailed design phase for the development of a hybrid internal combustion H2 engine2 with cryogenic storage, integrated into the airframe of a light aircraft, the IC-10.

This innovation represents a giant leap towards more sustainable aviation!

🔹 Our Objectives:

  • H2 Hybrid Engine:2 Designed from scratch by EHP2, our internal combustion engine delivers 200 kW for a mass of 80 kg with an efficiency of nearly 45% during cruising fully decarbonized and pollutant-free. Paired with an EHP2 electric motor (60V/40kW) and an EHP2 battery (1.6 kWh), batterie EHP2 de 1.6kWhthis innovative powertrain includes a fully electric, independent, and stealthy backup mode for optimal hybridization.
  • H2 Cryogenic Tank:2 Developed by DTC, this 15 kg tank and its fuel system are integrated into the current IC-10 airframe, offering a gravimetric index of 30% and a range of over 2 hours of flight at cruising speed.
  • Integration into an IC-10: Managed by I-SEE, the integration of the cryogenic system and engine has been designed with solutions that minimize impact on the aircraft's systems, structure, and characteristics. The goal is to ensure the most seamless operation compared to the original IC-10 (912S fossil-fuel engine) while optimizing its performance..

🎯 First flight scheduled for 2026..

Thank you to our teams and partners for their dedication and shared vision of clean and innovative aviation!
